Great show as usual guys.
One thing about the ending of Venom #19. I know how this is going to sound and I would like to preemptively tell you to get your mind out of the gutter. As for the War teasors, well, I hope it's not another cross-over event that begins right after A Vs X because of the cross over fatigue that often sets in.
As for Avengers Vs. X-Men #6, first of all I'm glad that JRJR was not the artist for the book. And for Pax Utopia and the Phoenix 5, well, Pax Utopia reminded me of House of M where the Scarlet Witch created a perfect world. Additionally it reminded me of The Matrix where Agent Smith says, "Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world, where none suffered, where everyone would be happy? It was a disaster. No one would accept the program, entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world, but I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from." I think it's really profound that the assumption that the human psyche cannot accept a perfect world.
I think Avengers Vs. X-Men will be the full circle book end to the House of M, as you seen a world, Pax Utopia, formed in the image of a mutant, much like it was made by the Scarlet Witch in House of M. Additionally, you have Scott state, "No more Avengers" like when Wanda said "No more Mutants." I believe by the end of the AvX that the mutant population will increase and new mutants will be born, and those that lose their mutant powers will regain them. And probably someone will die, which has been the case for most of Marvel's cross over events.
I think Iggy forgot to come back to Uncanny X-Men #14 regarding the possible role Mr. Sinister may play in AvX. However, again, the population of Sinister remined me of The Matrix.
As for New Avengers #27, I have a different take on Spider-Man being Hope's mentor as it unfolded in the issue. In AvX #6, Scott tells Hope that she didn't want to power of Phoenix and she was unworthy of it. In New Avengers, Spidey tells Hope that he didn't want to be a super hero at first either, but learned through Uncle Ben's death that like it or not, he had a responsibility to do good with his power. Hope has always been trained to be a soldier and a fighter, but not really a hero. Spidey makes sense to be Hope's mentor because he knows better than anyone else what happens if you blow off your responsibilities. I think Spidey will teach Hope to embrace her responsibility of being the Mutant Messiah and she'll probably battle the Phoenix 5 and take the power from them.You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. Loved the episode guys!!!! ANd yes I am still on Punisher, and it was a kickass issue!!! AvX is starting to really get annoying IMO..
