I read the transcription at Bleeding Cool. I don't have any sympathy for Perez. He admitted to changing writer's scripts because he didn't want to draw that. That's an asshole thing to do. Worse off, he's still doing it! He's been doing it since the fucking 80's! Also, if he didn't contact DC to see what they changed, and doesn't read comics anymore, how did he continue to layout issues for Saiz? That makes zero sense to me. How you can layout an issue and still claim DC changed so much. I'm not putting it past DC to rewrite anything, and its well within their right to do so, but all this sounds like Perez switching the blame for a truly terrible comic off himself. And someone should inform him that his Wonder Woman stories have not aged well. Being proud of them is one thing, and using that as an example of how writing should be done is something else entirely.

So wait, Superman changed his secret identity in the past for a short time or is this happening in present day DC? And this has to do with the time after he died after his fight with Doomsday or something else entirely?

Has absolutely nothing to do with Doomsday. And until you see otherwise, it would be wise to assume there never was a Doomsday or death of Superman. This is still sometime in the past before he consistently donned the alien Super suit.
