One of my biggest complaints with the Brightest Day series so far is the narrative style. It feels too much like an anthology. There's no intertwining of the stories at all.

I'm still not liking the Firestorm story, but The Atom's appearance made it a tad better. The Hawks story thus far isn't appealing to me either.

I am enjoying the Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Deadman stories thus far though. J'onn's appearance this issue was his best so far, and the best of this specific issue. I'm pissed at the fact that it's an Aquaman cover, yet Aquaman was barely in the issue! It especially sucks because his story has been the one I've been looking forward to the most.

Hopefully this series picks up a bit next issue though.

      I'd give it a 2.5/5.

Brand is interwining the stories just fine I think.
Figures for Sale/Trade: DCUC/DCD/Green Lantern Related *CHEAP*
Formally known as TMarcumUSN (or "Marcus" freakin' Bruce Castle haha)

It's two issues in! How could you expect a narrative style to have emerged? We've got 24 issues remaining; give the writers time to develop the story!

I've been enjoying the Aquaman and Martian Manhunter stories too. In fact his part in this issue when he meets the senile daughter of the scientist who brought him here left me wiping away a couple of tears. I'm actually getting into the Firestorm story now, even though I didn't care much for them before.

As for the conclusion, I might pick up issue 3 just to see it it's as epic as promised, although I am starting to wonder if this is worth my investment. 3/5 for me
I think Green Lantern is a pretty cool guy, eh overcomes graet fear and doesnt afraid of Sinestro.

I'm confused by DC's sliding timescale. When exactly did J'onn come to Earth? When did Erdel die? His body is barely decomposed, and yet his daughter seems to have aged a couple of decades since then.

What are the chances we come out of this with a new Firestorm monthly? I would love that.

                  1. Remember what comic you're reading.
                  2. Stop thinking so hard.
                  3. Reread.
