No Man's Land vs War Games

Though I am a pretty big fan of Batman, most of the things I have read of his solo adventures pre-RIP are based in trade, and while I have wanted to read these two stories for a long, LONG time, I have yet to acquire either of them.

Well... I have a little extra money, at the moment, and have located them both relatively cheaply online... however, I only have the money for one of them... so, those who are familiar with both stories, which would you suggest I get first (because I'll undoubtedly get the other eventually... even if its some time down the road), and why?

No Man's Land is longer, totalling 5 trades (6 counting Cataclysim) while War Games is only 3 trades (4 counting War Drums)... but War Games seems to be a bit more important as per its involvement with Spoiler/Robin.

But yeah... what say you?

No Man's Land is the (much) better story and it happens before War Games so that's another reason to get it first.

I vote No Man's Land but I accidentally pressed War Games on the poll. No Man's Land was WAY cooler IMO.

I liked War Games for the characters involved - so it was a "cooler" story to me than No Man's Land.

But No Man's Land was the better overall story. It's that grand scale epic Batman fantasy story I'd kill to see made into an anime by the same team who did Hellsing.

I take it you have no clue what anime is... people who think anime is "yuck" think its all like Pokemon... its not.

Anime is as variant a medium as live-action film, books, or comics.

There is stuff for adults, kids, perves, and everywhere inbetween. Saying all anime is the same would be like saying the Warner Premiere DC films are just like Spongebob Squatepants, Rugrats, the Fairly Odd PArents, or any other KIDS cartoon. Their not... different styles, different demographic, different story value.

I challenge any adult who says anime sucks to watch Perfect Blue, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, and Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal... then get back to me.

Gotham Knight was bad because they tried that Animatrix approach by using different artists/studios for seperate stories.

What I would like to see is a full mini-series a la Hellsing, focusing on No Man's Land. It can be done. Anime is the best medium to capture the dark and gritty atmosphere of Gotham City and Batman especially in that storyline. The action sequences would be spectacular with the team who did Hellsing.
