  • The Riot (GLC 36-68) Question.

So, We didnt see Tri-Eye get executed, but he still showed up as a Black Lantern.

Are we to Assume that the Guardians killed all Prisoners, whether we saw them or not?
    Does this mean that:
    The Igneous Man
    Hunger Dog
    And
Faceless Hunter are all Dead now?

    I meant Issue 36-38.

I don't think so... But I don't know. Maybe Tri-Eye did get executed in a panel or maybe he had a heart attack...

If that's the Alpha Lanterns execution sequence, then all prisoners were executed apart from the two that Guy and Kyle promised to look after in return for their help against the Sinestro Corps.

If I remember rightly, it showed the two Guy and Kyle promised protection for being shielded by the Guardians, whilst the Alphas nuked everyone else around them in one swift go.

If you didn't see them, I'd say you can't be sure they were even still prisoners, and therefore the possibility exists that they are still around. I say this because we have, in the past, seen villains captured, yet with no word of an escape we see them again elsewhere. Even if you saw them during the riot, but not afterward, there exists the chance that they managed to somehow escape in the chaos. But if you saw them amongst the prisoners AFTERWARD (or we were told that they were), then they SHOULD be dead now.

I still think this will play a part into Guy's rage, guess we'll have to wait and see how the Alpha's fit into all of this. They've been pretty quiet the last couple issues.

                        Hurm.

ok then, there was no definate panel showing that they escaped, or that they executed.

They fought in the riot. and were not seen afterwards.

Tri-eye fought in the riot He Did not appear in the execution scene, and yet was shown as a black lantern.

So assumably, they are dead, or will be brought back at some point as a plot device.

I would just assume that all the prisoners other than Bolly and Kanjar are dead now, because they're supposed to be.

One exception: if they happen to show up alive later (either by design, or simply by oversight on the writer's part), I'll just assume they escaped off-panel or something during the chaos (as villains are very good at doing). I don't think that would be too much of a stretch, considering how much chaos was going on at the time. I think the prisoners were kind of silly for hanging around waiting to get captured, anyway. If I had been a Sinestro Corps member imprisoned on Oa, and had miraculously been handed my freedom by an unlikely turn of treacherous events, I'd have taken that first chance to fly away and live to bring terror another day.

You know, given the rate at which Sinners die, I think now would be a great time for Sinestro to stop his rings from recruiting, too. It's like every new Sinner is a freebie for the Black Lantern Corps!

"And if you join now, you'll not only receive this shiny new Sinestro Corps Ring -- you'll also receive this stunning black ring to go with it! You cannot pass up this offer!"
