After seeing the most recent antics by the alpha lanters, it got me thinking about what their role will be.
They were created after the SCW, so Scar clearly had a hand in their creation. Why woul dthe guardians risk creating a force like the manhunters again? Maybe scar made them afraid of the war of light/darkest night, and so they thought that this would give them the upper hand.
They have no emotion, so it seems unlikely that the black lanterns will be able to beat them, but the Alphas don't seem that interested in fighting the black lanterns either.
hmmm.
they are "hard wired" to the book of Oa right? What if the guardians all end up just like scar? They could write laws into the book of Oa, and then the Alphas would be forced to follow them. Maybe a law like:
"destroy all other bearers/sources of emotional light"
or
"absorb all sources of emotional light"
ultimately, I am a GL newbie, and I am just spitballing ideas, so if anyone can point oout any logical errors I have made due to a lack of understanding of the history, please let me know.
