  • Manhunters.....secret plot by scar to beat the green lanterns?

After seeing the most recent antics by the alpha lanters, it got me thinking about what their role will be.
They were created after the SCW, so Scar clearly had a hand in their creation. Why woul dthe guardians risk creating a force like the manhunters again? Maybe scar made them afraid of the war of light/darkest night, and so they thought that this would give them the upper hand.
They have no emotion, so it seems unlikely that the black lanterns will be able to beat them, but the Alphas don't seem that interested in fighting the black lanterns either.
    hmmm.
they are "hard wired" to the book of Oa right? What if the guardians all end up just like scar? They could write laws into the book of Oa, and then the Alphas would be forced to follow them. Maybe a law like:
"destroy all other bearers/sources of emotional light"
    or
"absorb all sources of emotional light"
ultimately, I am a GL newbie, and I am just spitballing ideas, so if anyone can point oout any logical errors I have made due to a lack of understanding of the history, please let me know.

Everything that has happened during and post Sinestro Corps War has been bad news for the Green Lantern Corps.

Look for the the new laws to be revoked and the Alpha Lanterns shelved.

Why do you hate lethal force so much? It has make the Corps alot more interesting that before.

I feel like I've made my arguments pretty clear. It's equally clear that we don't agree on the subject.

Since I'm arguing not from a personal position but from what I percieve to be the THEMATIC position of the writing staff... time will tell which of us is correct.

Yeah I can see this I mean they are pretty easy to corrupt (Final Crisis) and to defeat (two-part GLC arc). Pretty much they are energy draining mistakes waiting to happen. Just wait until Cyborg gets a hold of one. A straight connection to the CPB.

The Sterling Gates two-part arc in GLC begs the differ.

Yeah, we saw that end through Boodikka's eyes, when having to deal with a familiar, yet rogue GL. They're a mixture of Manhunter and Lantern. Their emotions are more controlled, but they aren't completely devoid of them. More logical, but still living, feeling.

Come listen to our cast, and have a ball while you're at it! : D

ok. so since they do have emotion, do you think it will be possible for the black lanterns to take out their hearts (or whatever it is that they have that funcions as a heart)?

That would have been the one flaw in the Black Lantern's plans if they were to win... they forgot about the damn sentient robots.

Black Hand: Eh Nekron, we have a bit of a problem...

                          Nekron: What is it?

Black Hand: What do we do about all of these robots running around?

Nekron: Can't we just rip out their CPUs or something?

Black Hand: But... they have no... feelings.

Nekron: DAMN IT!!! DAMN IT!!! DAMN IT!!!
