maybe im not the only one that noticed this but im re reading the issue again and i saw that when amon sur said "the green lanterns th- they kill?" in the next panel he took off into space

i thought he might be the replacement leader for sinestro but not after that so who else would do it?

I think ol' Amon Sur had that "hate to love" kind of relationship, and when her realized that the Green Lanterns could now kill, they got knocked off a mighty high pedestal in his eyes. Remember, he worshipped his father, and was just bent that the GL Corps didn't pick him to replace him later.

Don't forget, Sinestro had already been sentenced to death by the Guardians back at the end of Volume 2 in the 80s. In fact, they even had a Green Lantern firing squad carry out his sentence.

No offense, but I think you're reading into it too much. Amon showed himself to be a little chicken sh!t and ran when the playing field was leveled. He was only interested in sticking around so long as his life wasn't at risk. It was one of my favorite moments in the book since Amon's been nothing but a whiney brat.

Actually, he was sentenced by Green Lanterns, NOT Guardians. The Guardians were gone from our universe at the time, except for the depowered Appa Ali Apsa. The GLs took it upon themselves to try, sentence, and execute him, only to find out that using GL power to kill a Korugarian activated a built-in destructive reaction in the CPB that Appa had forgotten about when he lost his Guardianship. THAT was when Sinestro ended up in the CPB, starting this whole mess with Parallax in the first place.

One would hope that they would remember that this time, and if they do execute Sinestro, they do it through more conventional means.

I never understood how Amon got a ring to begin with. "You have the ability to create great fear" ... but in whom? Who has ever been afraid of Amon Sur?

and yeah i caught the bizzaro hal to that was pretty funny

but whats the death row thing you mentioned?
