Since the Corps Rebrith they've been more Paramillitray than sci-fi cops. Now they're getting to the point where they're just about all millitary. That i think will also play out in what made Hal and his compatriots the Greatest, and what will make Sodam the Greatest. The old guard, Hal, Guy, John, Kilowog, Arisia were heroes, cops. The newer Lanterns are mostly being trained into soldiers, Vath, Isamot, and Sodam. I'm def glad Geoff is staying past BN.
I agree. We started seeing the divide of who acted more like cops and who acted more like soldiers when lethal force was enabled. Even arguments about it like when Vath, Isamot, and I believe Iolande were stopped from attempting to kill Mother Mercy. The Guardians are being completely and utter morons and pretty much turning the GLs into soulless manhunters. This will clearly come back to haunt them.

That's something I've always noticed. For all their claims of the Green Lantern Corps being the ultimate force in the universe, I've always gotten the feeling that the Guardians view them as "second best", and they just want their robots back.

And cops WILL kill people in the course of their duties if it is necessary. I'm not really seeing the cops vs. soldiers dynamic. Unless one is talking about good cops vs. bad soldiers, but the real difference there is good vs. bad, not cops vs. soldiers, IMHO.

Yeah but they're not killing as a last resort anymore. They're killing like they're some sort of firing squad.

Its is a quick read! It's just ending the riot and setting the stage for the blackest night. But I do like that Daxam is liberating itself, Superman style! How will Sadam Yat com back? or does Ion have that taken care of.

Are you in NYC? I remember a spot called Forbidden Planet in New York....it was one of the best comic spots ive ever been to.

By the way, you should have jumped him and taken the comic by force. I would have.

I thought this issue was GREAT. Tons of suspense and action, on a multi-world scale. Tension and drama within the Corps. Unfathomable actions by the Guardians and Alphas.

I'm curious what planet Mongul is talking about taking over!!

Great read, loved GUY and Kyle intervening in the executions.
Got seriously heated, almost came to blows with the Alpha lanterns.
Gotta love GUY giving Alpha Chaselon the boot!

GUY and Kyle still have to face a tribunal for their insubordanation.
Really not liking the smurfs at the moment. At least Kanjar Ro and Bolphunga get a stay of execution thanks to GUY and Kyles intervention! Poor Nero, but hey, he'll make an interesting Black Lantern.

With all these executions, Scar's BL army is sure to grow more rapidly, interesting times ahead.....CANNOT WAIT!
:On worlds afar or scenes at home, wherever the cause should make me roam, always i vow to fight the good fight, to combat evil with all green lanterns might!:

Yeah, I see that. I guess my point is just that I don't think that difference is really a cops vs. soldiers difference, since decent soldiers don't generally set up firing squads for everybody they take prisoner, either.

Y'know the real nasty part of this situation? The Guardians JUST kicked Laira out of the Corps, leading to her becoming a Red Lantern, then dying. And why? Because she executed a prisoner. So apparently if she had just hung on a few weeks or so, she would have been justified in blasting Amon Sur?! Bummer for her, huh?

(And it becomes even uglier when you realize that we were originally told that the Guardians made up ALL of the ten new laws at the same time, and just released them one at a time. If that hasn't been retconned away already, that means they condemned Laira for an action that they already KNEW they would be authorizing in short order.)

Wow so Mongul's ditching Daxam? Does that mean when Sinestro and his loyalists finally gather back the Corps and prepare to attack Daxam, they get there and look at all the wreckage and go "shit. We missed all the action." LOL

Eh, it was interesting. I was definitely not a fan of the art. I thought it dragged the book down a lot. As I thought, it was a quick read which wasn't all that bad because it was interesting. It didn't really feel like a conclusion though. It didn't dive right into setup for Blackest Night either.

i thought the last page (all the colors and then the black rings) was just put there randomly

good stuff tho...especially for guy and kyle to be right there in front of everyone, even the sinestros and 2 non ring slingers, and call them out on that

what i want to know is...why the hell did the guardians seem to not question the riot...surely they would think that the yellow rings couldn't've gotten a recharge and was able to find all of their owners without some kind of help right?
