Question About Harnessing the Spectrum

Just a quick question, and any thoughts or ideas...

Would it be possible for there to be 2 different corps of 1 color? For example if Larfleeze had the Orange power battery, would it be possible for someone else to harness the orange light too, in another power battery? Another question of mine would be: Would it be possible to harness a 2nd or 3rd light?

The Sinestro corps was perfectly capable of using more than one central power battery. So it does seem possible to create another central power battery that collects that specific emptional energy. I guess the challenge is tapping into that part of the spectrum.

It does sound like an interesting plot for Sinestro or someone in a later story. They craft another green battery in another side of the universe, and in turn it weakens or lowers the amount of energy the GL's have.

It also sound like a possible way to put a stop to Larfleeze. Or at least weaken him to a more manageable threat.

If GL can borrow energy from the BL then I would think it is possible.

It may still come into focus. In fact, their gathering may be what is prompting Sinestro's assault on Zamaron.

Thanks for all the replies, but would it be possible to combine the lights into different colors? Like having Greedful Love (Orange+Violet) ? Thoughts? Answers?

The evidence doesn't seem to support that idea.
- When Mother Mercy wore both a Sin Corps ring and a GL ring, she merely got a splitted costume.
- When Hal wore Red and Green the green was simply overwealmed.
- When Hal wore the Blue ring, the Red was destroyed.
- With Blue and Green, they keep trying to synch up and simply don't work well.

I can see all the colored corps shooting the blacks at once and come up with a whie light ... maybe. But then again, the Blacks already use a white light, so even that theory isn't totally sound. So far though the spectrum colors have never mixed.

Mother Mercy had equal amounts of control over each ring. Ditto Hal with Red and Blue.

Despite it being "the war of light", I don't think they plan to tie it in with actual light. It's more about the emotions behind each light.

Yes but in GL: Rebirth when Hal and Sinestro's rings collided the Green and Yellow energy became white, so there is evidence to support that theory.

Well, not really. Yellow + green =/= white.

Moreover Fear + Will =/= all the emotions in the spectrum, so ... even on this level it doesn't work.

Edit: I'm not saying it won't happen for sure, but there just doesn't seem to be evidence to support the idea. It really seems like the rings compete with each other rather than mix to create a new color. (Which would be pretty confusing IMHO since the colors represent emotions in GL ... how does adding hope to rage equate to love?)

Remember, that in reality all colors of light can mix. But in GL, green is weak to red and yellow, red is weak to blue, blue strengthens green and can't work without it, yellow is drained by blue, and orange absorbs everything (except, possibly, blue) ... in terms of mixing light these alalogies don't work. So far there's more evidence to show that the sprectrum doesn't mix to create new colors than there is to show that it does.

Moreover, purple, orange, and Indigo are all secondary colors. But, in terms of GL, the mixing here wouldn't make sence either. Fear + Rage = greed?

I don't think things will get that in-depth in terms of "mixing", at least I hope not. We don't need an Art 101: Mixing primary and secondary colours course in our GL comics, do we? Moreover I'd hate to think Geoff is going to start mixing emotions..."A little bit of Fear plus a dash of Hope...Willpower!" That would just be...stupid.
