I gotta say nu full defeat. He is death itself so that makes him unable to die. Also, that excuse can be used to get a sequel going so I think killing him won't happen.

Similar to his other appearances, he will be subdued and sent back to where he came from. We will see him again in 10 years or so.

I think he'll get beaten back but probably take Black Hand with him or some other small twist setting up a return in a few years.

Though he's alive right now. He has a beating heart and all that.

I don't remember him being Death Itself, he was simply a very power Being who inhabited Limbo, the space between Life and Death.

He is Lord of Purgatory, more or less.

I'm sure some sort of deal will be made...to barter for some of the deceased to come back to life :P

I thought he was the Lord of Death? I could be wrong (probably am) but I thought that was the whole thing with him was death to everything and getting rid of emotions.

one of the things mentioned that they were trying to do with blackest night is set up the permenancy of death, so i think if he survives that might mean semi-permenant black lanterns. not as villain of the week more as a zombie/reaver thing that appear every so often to strike fear into the dcu (and yes im also a firefly fan)

nekron can't die. he's death incarnate. if he's somehow killed (in DC universe), he just return to his realm (DC version of purgatory) and come back again sometime in the future.

That's pretty much what I think. DC will use him again, but it'll be several years.

It'd be nice if they did something of interest with him THIS time before the whole event ends though.

He's essentially death incarnate, if he's destroyed death might cease to function, it's mroe likely he'll be beaten back or maybe Black Hand will take over his job

I don't think he'll be destroyed utterly. but we wont see him for a long time.

He will be decisively defeated, as in...we are meant to think of his defeat as final until like others have said, they pull him out of moth balls down the road. To just make a deal with him, a la Larfleeze, would make no one happy and risk the mostly positive reaction to the event.
"My mind is deluged with thoughts of Heaven and Hell,
Crime and Punishment, Damnation and Redemption. Hal
                            Jordan... And The Spectre.

I'm dead, yet I live. I have no identity. Yet I know
who I am. And once again I've been given power enough
to change the world. This time, Lord...
                            Let me be worthy."

Who will betray them? Larfleeze, Lex, or someone else?
