I was reading the local newspaper The San Diego Union-Tribune, and in the movie section for Movies opening Friday. Theres a little column talking about Green Lantern.
Then the writer went on to "Mr.Popper's Penguins" and didn't say anything about that besides the synopsis."Green Lantern": Not all superheroes were meant for the big screen. This adaptation of the DC Comics series about a human (Ryan Reynolds) recruited by aliens to wield a ring that gives him superpowers looks...well, a little riciculous. Then again, "Thor" didn't seem all that promising either, and look how that one turned out.

I agree with the review of the soundtrack, it's got it all. And for those wondering, the Green Lantern theme is "Buuuuuuuum, bum bum bum buuuuuum". That five note theme is everywhere in the score, he definitely took some notes from John Williams, do yourselves a favor and listen to the "Prologue" track sample on either iTunes or the movie site, you'll hear it, there's a great military march that builds up to the loud brass theme, I've been humming it to myself for the last week or two
