It's just bad message board etiquette to come in and talk like you own the place before you've established yourself as a valuable member of the community I've got over 1500 posts and I still feel a bit like a noob

That's just comic book guy elitism at it's finest to buy in to that sort of rationale.

This message board is the bar, we are all the regulars and youre the new guy. Not trying to shun you or nothing, but just trying to show you that you need to kind of stick around solidly before anyone gives any real thought to your posts.
Just sayin'.

Also, you dont know any of us from Adam. The majority of us doesnt fit the typical "comic book guy" mold of "in mommy's basement with thousands of issues and over weight" stereotype.
Some of us do cool things. Some of us have exciting lives and we share those aspects of our lives along with our shared mutual interests here. So YOUR elitist attitude of "you are wrong, people! Hear me out!" is one of the many things that make these communities tighter- we just leave you out.Figures for Sale/Trade: DCUC/DCD/Green Lantern Related *CHEAP*

Imagine you're an ol'timer who's been frequenting a bar since it's grand opening way back when. Just enjoying your favorite beer and the ambiance. Then... some guys find the place and start to visit the bar regularly, too; just with a lot more to say than you. They then bring up a topic where you feel you have some experience in and you decide to chime in. Now imagine that group of guys all looking at you as if you're the new guy and can't possibly have anything worthwhile to say because they've never noticed you before in a place that is all of a sudden "their" bar.
How would you look at these guys? They assume you're new because you don't make a lot of noise at the bar and try to discredit what you say because of it. And even if you were new...why should that discredit what you say? Elitism at it's finest.

If you do nothing, say nothing, you are nothing. You dont have a foot hold for the simple fact that you seemed to chime in for controversey for its sake, not to contribute.Figures for Sale/Trade: DCUC/DCD/Green Lantern Related *CHEAP*

And the fact that if youre an "old timer" doesnt make any difference. Even if you've been here longer, that doesnt give you the right to spout on and on about how everyone is elitist. It doesnt matter. It doesnt change the fact that you havent been an active part of this community and doesnt give you the right to go and spout on and on about how everyone is like Comic Book Guy. Now if West was saying something like that, I'd listen a bit more. He's been here for ages and he's earned his place. You havent.

I said we shouldn't be snobs about it. Nobody mentioned "mommy's basement", "issues", or anything to do with being "overweight". I don't have to know a person's private life to deduce if they're responding like a snob about something.
