So what the heck is Ion? *spoilers*

It's literally been a bug inside Kyle, like Parallax was inside Hal... since when? How exactly did this bug inhabit him the first time he was Ion? And since the only reason he became Ion the second was because of the Starheart energies/lifeforce passed to him when Jade died, does that mean Jade had it, too? If not, does that mean it's simply laid dormant inside of him in between his Ion stints? If so, where did Jade get it from? Genetically from her Dad? If so, does that mean Alan has a similar bug in him? Perhaps the momma bug?

Ugh, questions after questions this creates, and I almost doubt they'll give us a good answer.
