  • Kyle's Story

Okay....so I just finished reading GL Vol. 3.

    I've read GL: Rebirth
    I've read Ion

Is there something for me to read that bridges the gap between End of Vol. 3 and Rebirth and then the space between it and Ion?

I don't remember there being a gap between Vol. 3 and Rebirth. I think Vol. 3 ended and then the next we see Kyle he shows up with Hal's body.

    Could be wrong though.

      No.

and then the space between it and Ion?
Infinite Crisis, particularly the Rann-Thanagar Special where he became Ion. Then you're set for Ion.

It was a Wizard preview. But yeah, it's in the Rebirth collected editions.

I've read it, so I know so.

You forgot Green Lantern Corps Recharged, which took place just before all the R/T War and Infinite Crisis stuff. The mini set Kyle up for R/T War and later Ion, and set Guy up to appear in GLC for the first quarter of the series. It was also the introduction of modern age Lanterns like Natu, Vath, and Isamot.

It actually was reprinted in a Secret Files later on, I'm pretty sure, since I didn't buy Wizard, I never read the Rebirth collected editions, yet I'm certain I've read it (and have it in my collection somewhere).

The Rebirth #0 was covered in Rebirth when Kyle talks to Green Arrow: Kyle finds the planet with the race he saves from random monsters that tell him about Parallax since they see he's a GL, his ring starts "talking" which it's never done before, and all it says to him is "Parallax." The race shows him the drawing of Parallax the entity, not Parallax(Hal Jordan).
Off camera he goes to confront Ganthet about the entity of fear, Ganthet suddenly loses his memory block or whatever it was, gives Kyle the ship to go get Hal's body, starts aging the other Guardians, and leaves to meet Kyle on Earth to extract Parallax from Hal's apparently soul-less but not dead or burned to a crisp body(Go Willpower energy). Parallax realizes what's going on and starts controlling Hal. It tries to control Kyle through the ring, but Kyle can see it coming and blocks it. Kyle crashes on Earth, starting GL:Rebirth.

Watch "Fried Green Tomatoes", "The Bridges of Madison County", and read anything by Jane Austen to put the cherry on top of the COMPLETE story.

He asked about Kyle, not Hal.
