I have been on message boards for years (all the way back to Prodigy days) and I have never been on one where the people have been as cool as they are here. Even the people that have disagreements with me, or the "haters" have been surprisedly civil. All though I haven't been on here long enough to really get to know someone, all the people I have talked to via PM have been really friendly and helpful. For someone like me that's new to the series, it's really a gift to have a place like this where you can come to and get your questions responded to without someone saying something like "Dude, you're such a moron. You mean you haven't read page 6 of issue #247 that came out in 1969? You can't write all the enemies names backwards in the reverse order of when they appeared in the series? And you have the nerve to call yourself a fan? Do us all a favor and kill yourself now...."

So I just wanted to say to all the people here as well as the mods for not only having a great site, but also a great podcast to listen too as well:

By the way, just in case people were wondering: I know my grammer is horrible and my signature is in another language, but I have lived in America my entire life. My signature is the Green Lantern oath in Latin (an attempt to be original) and my name comes from a Rob Zombie song (an attempt to be cool), although I also used it because I felt it applied to Hal as well since his soul was corrupt when he was infected by Parallax.

That's actually a great idea. You (or the website that translated it) made a few mistakes, though. "Beware meus vox"? Now I haven't dealt with Latin for close to fifteen years, but here's what I came up with:

Well, that's the kind of reaction I've gotten on other message boards. I mean on almost every one, there's been people (and it's not just one person on the board, sometimes it's like 80% of them). I don't know if you've read it, but I even had a crazy exchange with comic book store employee, which reminded me of how people acted on the boards sometimes. I'll repost that here (sorry that it's kind of long):

I bought 20 GL comics from my only local comic book store, Bedrock Comics. I was going through the boxes in alphabetical order, and it seemed to go from Green Arrow to H. When I asked the guy that worked there for help, he treated me like I was a complete moron because I didn't know to look at the drawers underneath the boxes of comics for the GL comics. When I went to checkout, the same guy saw that I was buying all GL comics and said that the Green Lantern movie "was going to suck and everybody thinks so" and the special effects were "terrible" and "some of the worst he'd ever seen". He also said Hal Jordan was a awful character who was a "complete and total douche bag, just like Batman" (that part really threw me. Hating on both guys, two of my favorite characters, and then saying they were similar?) I left the store in stunned disbelief. While it might sound like the guy is making some kind of stupid joke, I promise you he was as serious as a heartache. Needless to say, I'm never going to shop there again. Of course, it's fine that he has an opinion, regardless of what it is, but speaking to and treating a customer like that is unprofessional. Do you guys agree or am I just overreacting?

Hey, thanks. I fixed it using your translation. I did use a translation website as I don't know any latin, but I've always thought it sounded cool. Thanks for fixing it for me!
