I was a child of the 80s as well, and there are a lot of great movies from that time. Hell, even ones that are bad I still have fond memories of when I wear my rose colored glasses!

Stand By Me is also on my list; I recently picked up the special edition on DVD so I could watch it with my kids. What man can't identify with the kids in that movie?

Back To The Future was one that came out when I was really getting into movies; I wanted to skateboard for about two weeks--until I realized my bike was still more fun. Great movie though.

Gremlins (the first one), so bad it's good!

Goonies. I think every guy my age loves this movie.

                  Some others:

                  Highlander
                  Aliens
                  Terminator
                  Army Of Darkness
                  The Thing
                  Friday the 13th 1-8

And I don't care WHAT decade it was made in, Wizard Of Oz is a fucking classic for kids and adults of ANY age.

The Karate Kid - Still one of my favorites.
                            Top Gun
                            E.T.
                            Stand By Me

Back To The Future - When this came out there was a rumor started at my school that Toy's R' Us would have the floating skateboards that Christmas. Man, I wanted one so bad....they float.....on air.

                            Gremlins

Goonies - It's their time up there, but down here it's our time.....it's our time down here.

                            Short Circut
                            Ferris Bueller
                            Lost Boys

Tons more, but I'll have to think about it some more.
