        • That's not funny, any more than it was funny when they did something similar in Jurassic Park 2...

As a dog lover yourself, I'm surprised at you, Doom.

At first I took it the way you seem to be--that the gator ate the dog, but then I figured Jeff wouldn't do that and at least he probably took it as a version Xzibit "yo dawg" meme and that the prankster one upped a gift of a dog by giving them a gator instead of a dog. Not sure which interpretation is right, though the reaction of the posters seems more likely for the former than the latter.

The way that *I* understood the picture was that a person was giving the croc as a gift to someone thinking it was a dog, which makes the whole thing redonkulous and thus gives me the lols. If, for any moment, I thought an actual dog was harmed by a gator as a joke, I never would have posted that pic.

Or...maybe someone photoshopped a picture of a gator on the bottom of a completely unrelated picture of a text message exchange?

I never thought that a dog was ACTUALLY harmed. I thought the picture was meant to be a joke that IMPLIED that a dog left on a doorstep was eaten by a gator. I just didn't think that such a joke was funny, like I didn't think it was funny when they showed the doghouse dangling from the T. Rex's mouth by a chain in JP2 (I also realized that didn't REALLY happen ).

                    • I thought it was obvious the joke was that there never WAS a dog at the front door.

                      • Well, either way, I gladly accept that Jeff didn't interpret the thing the way I did, or he never would have posted it. That's consistent with my understanding of his values.
