Hah! I actually MacGuyvered up something for that purpose when I was in college. I used string unraveled from the edge of the carpet, tied to a soda pop-top ring, which I wedged on the lightswitch. I then rigged the string around various items in the room so that when I pulled the other end while in bed, it pulled down on the lightswitch.
