2K Sports announced today that WWE 2K15 will feature a rivalries mode that will look at John Cena and CM Punk's feud from 2011 - 2013, as well as Triple H's feud with Shawn Michaels from 2002 - 2004. Here is the full announcement, with photos below:
WWE® 2K15 to Celebrate Historic WWE Rivalries with 2K Showcase

Story-driven single-player experience explores memorable rivalries in WWE history

New York, NY – August 11, 2014 – 2K today announced details of 2K Showcase, the story-driven single-player campaign in WWE® 2K15, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Through high quality cinematics and historic WWE footage, players will intimately explore two notable WWE rivalries: the bitter rivalry between Triple H® and Shawn Michaels® from 2002 to 2004, as well as WWE 2K15 cover Superstar John Cena® and CM Punk®'s spirited rivalry spanning 2011 to 2013.

"The moment Triple H ended his longtime friendship with 'The Heartbreak Kid' by slamming him with a Pedigree was a defining moment in WWE history," said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K. "No fan can deny the fierce competition marking the notorious battles waged between Cena and Punk. These two rivalries are firmly etched in WWE history, and 2K Showcase enables fans to take part in those memorable experiences."

2K Showcase will tell the epic history of the two rivalries through documentary-style video packages of classic WWE footage, authentic WWE Superstar commentary and cinematic cut scenes. In the 33 available matches across the rivalries, players will be tasked with completing a set of bonus historical objectives that will unlock new WWE Superstars, Championship titles and alternate attire that can be used in all other WWE 2K15 game modes. With this wealth of unlockable content, players can recreate current rivalries or stage dream matchups between WWE Superstars of the past and present. Additional 2K Showcase rivalries will be made available via downloadable content following the game's scheduled release on October 28, 2014 in North America and October 31, 2014 internationally.

"Featuring two of the biggest rivalries in WWE history, including my storied matches with Shawn Michaels, there's no doubt fans will experience the thrill first-hand through WWE 2K15," said Paul "Triple H" Levesque, Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative at WWE. "2K Showcase brings WWE to life in a way our fans have never seen before through a video game."

Developed collaboratively by Yukes and Visual Concepts, a 2K studio, WWE 2K15 is not yet rated by the ESRB. WWE 2K15 is scheduled for release on the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, as well as Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, on October 28, 2014 in North America and October 31, 2014 internationally. Fans who pre-order WWE 2K15 at any participating retailer will receive two playable Sting characters at no extra cost on launch day.

      • Someone please help me to understand something. Why are people willing to pay for a PPV when they're likely to see a show on Raw the very next night for free that just as good or better?

          • WWE has announced that indie star Kevin Steen has been signed to NXT. He did a Q&A with WWE's website. During the Q&A, he was asked about what led to his signing.
"William Regal came to a wrestling show I was taking part in in California almost a year ago exactly, I believe it was Aug. 31 of last year, and it was for PWG, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla," Steen said. "The match I had that night, I think did a lot. I had never met William Regal before; I didn't know him at all. I had great respect for him already; he's actually been one of my favorite wrestlers for quite some time. To have him watch my match and take the time to tell me what he thought and give me advice was already great, but then a couple days later, I was contacted to see if I wanted to be part of a tryout camp. Just to have somebody like William Regal have enough esteem for me to go as far as to actually recommend me for a tryout meant a lot. Then I went to the tryout camp and I got through it, and what made me stand out were the promos, where we basically had to sell ourselves verbally. That's always been one of my strong suits — the way I talk and what I say. I make it count, and I think that went pretty far in getting me to where I am now."

I always ask that very same question. The only PPV's worth buying are Wrestlemania and the Royal Rumble... and the latter is questionable.

              • RAW is the definition of inconsistent. The PPV's can have some EXCELLENT matches. Plus, its $10. That's an amazing value. I'm not getting just a ppv, I'm getting 5 other wrestling shows, back catalogue's, dvd specials, and new programming. Sure, free is always amazing but its not as if you don't see the change in quality between events and RAW. At the end of the day, its all one big story. I want the payoff. And I want it because it should be better than the buildup.

EDIT: As I wrote this, WWE App sent a message saying that the network is available internationally. Thought that was funny.

                • Wrestling doesn't have payoffs anymore. It's all one, long continuous feud that transfers from person to person. There are no more decent build-ups because there are too many damn PPV's, so they have to have filler feuds that nobody gives a damn about. Meanwhile, the better wrestlers are pushed onto the undercard while Cena, Orton, Shaemus and the like hog the spotlight.

the story lines arent what they use to be imo. i just wish wwe would fire all the holly wood writers and hire actual guys who know how to write stories for wrestling.

But the feud never ended. It just so happened that Bryan got hurt and had to relinquish the titles, but had he stayed healthy, it would be the Authority still screwing him over... and that's gotten old in a hurry. Instead of moving onto the next feud, it's always more of the same crap driven into the ground.

It did end though. He didn't face Triple H, Batista, or Orton. He faced Kane, and sadly he got injured.

Whether you want to admit it or not, WWE did play the buildup game with Daniel Bryan from Summerslam last year all the way to Wrestlemania.

Also look at Bray Wyatt another great example of WWE playing the long game with this guy.

I get the feeling you don't watch WWE, which is fine. But your basing your statements at glances rather than seeing the full picture.

I don't know where or how you're getting that feeling. I don't watch the PPV's or Smackdown, and I don't have the WWE Network, but I do watch Raw every Monday (which shouldn't be 3 freaking hours).

The only reason the Bryan vs. Authority feud ended is because of an injury, otherwise it would have been Bryan vs. some member(s) of the Authority (or some variation) every week. Sure, they did a good job building up Bryan, but when it finally hit a climax at Mania, what happened? More of the same "B+ player" nonsense until Bryan was injured. Nothing different... and that's because there aren't enough main eventers to change things up and keep the show fresh; the same 4 guys are always hogging the top spots.

In any event, maybe I'm getting too old for this stuff- feuds used to end at the PPV's. Now, they're just continued, and everything spills onto Raw the following day.

I hope they do something different with Reigns when he finally gets his shot and some different guys get pushes. I'm still peeved with what they did to Ryback. That guy was the second coming of Goldberg, then they decided to make him a whiny, little girl.

I wonder if people complained this much when Austin was constantly fighting the corporation back in oh so proclaimed Attitude Era?
