WWE Releases Alberto Del Rio For Incident

WWE announced the following today:
"WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee."

WWE did not use Alberto Del Rio's real name when announcing his release from the company this evening. It's also interesting that they did not wish him the best in his future endeavors.
For what it's worth, Rob Feinstein of RF Video wrote on his Facebook that Del Rio was involved in a backstage incident at the recent WWE TV tapings. RF claimed that Del Rio had words with an employee who works for WWE's social media department and allegedly slapped him. This should be taken as strictly rumor for now.

We've noted how Del Rio has expressed interest in leaving WWE and returning to Mexico once his deal expired this year.

WWE ruined ADR when they kept flip-flopping his character from heel to face without rhyme or reason. After a while, people stopped caring and seemingly, so did he. Still, he was always a good, technically-sound wrestler. He must have really pissed off someone because they didn't wish him well on his future endeavors.

I basically stopped following wrestling after Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit died, but I'll peek in occasionally. I just saw that John Cena and Randy Orton are likely going to square off in the main event of a PPV. Wow, that might have been interesting 12 years ago. It's amazing that they've developed so few stars since then while staging a PPV every month -- and gotten away with it!
