This one is way too tough to narrow down to one guy.

Obviously Henshaw and Darkseid are right at the top as far as DC goes, with Sinestro not far behind. I also think Joker is a pretty awesome bad guy.

I dunno tho...I honestly might have to say Sephiroth on this one. He looks awesome, his attitude was killer, and his sword kicked ass. I remember reading through the booklet for FF7 on the way home from getting it and just thinking "I can't WAIT till I get to use this guy!" of course not knowing he would actually be the main bad guy. He was one of the first characters ever that I thought "I'd like to play this game through his POV."

Plus, all of his songs kicked ass.

I could end this post by simply saying Hal Jordan, and leave it at that, but I'll give this question a wider answer.

My favorite film villain is likely Jigsaw (from the Saw series of films).

My favorite game villain is definately Seifer Almasy (from Final Fantasy VIII).

My favortie literary villain is probably Rochefort (from The Three Musketeers and Twenty Years After - Note: unlike the film versions of The Three Musketeers, Rochefort does not only live at the end of the story, but he actually becomes friends with d'Artagnan, technically making him a good guy in the second book, though he does end up dying by d'Artagnan's blade at the end of it).

And finally, my favorite comic villain is likely Harvey Dent (like you don't know what he's from).

*Honorable mentions go to Bub (film: Day of the Dead), Judge Galbranth (game: Final Fatnasy XII), Hannibal Lector (literary: Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal), and Sinestro (comic: duh).
Do good. Be well. Make happy.

DC comics has amazing heroes and amazing villains!
If we talk about the Lanterns, I have to say Sinestro, but probably my favourite DC villain is Lex Luthor, especially the one we saw in 52.
The Joker is another wonderful evil character of course. I'll always thank Mr Alan Moore for the clown he gave us in "The Killing Joke".

                  hi girl, all ok?
Ok, the question: even though recently he's been used as Superman's punching-bag, I still think Darkseid is the best villain in the DCU. He's a diety to the people he tortures--the more he hurts them the more they love him.

I would like to see him return to being a master manipulator first & foremost, that can also kick some @$$ when he has no other recourse.

I'm with you on this. Darkseid should be THE most powerful being in the DCU, bar none. He is in my mind, I simply justify every "defeat" by saying it was all part of his master plan.

I do love my villains. But, who could tell? Anyways, as far as villains go, I would have to say I have many favorites.

For DC, it would probably be Black Adam. Mainly because, well, he has magical powers that match that of Captain Marvel(Before the transformation), he has his own kingdom, AND, thus far, nobody has stopped him. Also, he has tasted being a hero before. He was on JSA as a hero for a time, and yet, he still chose evil. I mean, if that does not scream evil, what does? And, I guess, that he has had everything. Love, of Isis, and of his people, however short it was, power that the Gods WOULD NOT rescend, and an on and off enemy/ally in Captain Marvel. BUT, the biggest reason, that what he does is not "evil" in his eyes, it's justice. Much like some of our grittier heroes, and some villains. But, unlike some who seek justice at all costs, some for revenge, others for thrill, he seeks it because he truly does love his people, and what he does. A close second, for me, is Solomon Grundy.

As far as Marvel goes, I would have to say my favorite villain from their side would be the Green Goblin. Why, you ask? Because, he completed one of the most vile tasks in comic book history, and one of the most memorable. C'mon, tell me you don't of Gwen Stacy when it comes to Gobby? I mean, the guy's certifiably insane. He rides around dressed like a Goblin, is super-smart, has a glider, and adopted his childhood fear as his identity(Look it up). The only other person I can think of that's done that is Batman. Not to mention, he fought both Spider-Man AND the Human Torch to a draw. And, now? He runs a group of villains trying to reform, that work for the government. But, the fact that he is still unbalanced mentally means, to me, that he is still the same, murderous Goblin that threw Gwen Stacy off the bridge. A close second, for me, is Taskmaster.

Literary Villain- Count Dracula (Dracula)---I love vampires, he's the original

DC Villain- Sinestro (Green Lantern)---Im a sucker for fallen heroes

Marvel Villain- Vulcan (X-Men)---Deadly Genesis was just WOW!!! Plus he looks cool.
