Lee Mendelson, the longtime producer of Peanuts TV specials who wrote the lyrics for the yuletide classic “Christmas Time Is Here,” died on Christmas Day at the age of 86.

Mendelson’s sons confirmed the A Charlie Brown Christmas producer’s death following a long battle with lung cancer to the Palo Alto Daily Post. “It wasn’t great for us, but to have him pass on Christmas really ties into his history and legacy,” his sons said.

George Michael's sister Melanie Panayiotou was found dead on Christmas Day, exactly three years after the British pop star died, the family's lawyer has confirmed to CNN.

"We can confirm that very tragically Melanie has passed away suddenly," the family's lawyer, John Reid, said in a statement on Friday."We would simply ask that the family's privacy be respected at this very sad time."

When Julie Berman came up to the open mic at the trans day of remembrance event on Nov. 20, 2017, she delivered a speech about transphobia in Toronto. She talked about a trans friend of hers that was murdered.

On Sunday, a little over two years later, the trans woman and activist was assaulted and murdered.
