Yeah, but.........
In #2, he was just a kid, he could have grown up to be anything.
In #3, he was a teenager, but near the end of his teens.
In The TV series, he looked almost the same as the one in #3, therefore we have established a look for John Connor.
In #4, Bale comes in and I could have mistaken him for someone else and not Connor.

Maybe the guy who played Bond in the 90s could have pulled him off.

Bale played a John (and Im guessing yur ignoring Michael Edwards, who also played John) who had lived thru a robot apocalypse into the year 2018; wtf was he supposed to look like??

hell, if anything Bale looked fairly age-approximate for how the character would realistically be (I mean, if U could buy Furlong playing a 10yo, then U can buy this too.........)
