I thought it was interesting that the person conducting the study was careful to state that "Even if he has hit on individual genes, they will likely only have at most a small effect on their own", yet some of reactions to the study in the article seem to be assuming that this will demonstrate that sexual orientation is genetic, rather than something that has a small genetic component and other complex contributing factors. It seems like some people fixate on the genes in arguing that it isn't a matter of choice, when it seems to me that it could be completely independent of genetics and STILL not be a matter of choice.
