  • Have we done a toy draft?
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

I hadn't considered it as excluding anything, but that would be up to whoever actually ran it, I suppose. I wasn't even figuring that "sidekick" would be rigidly defined, but rather that if people didn't buy some of your choices as sidekicks that would just work against you come voting time.

Would that involve picking specific toys, or whole toy lines? For example, would you pick a specific version of Optimus Prime toy, or would you pick Transformers?

        • Hmm I'd probably say individual toys would be better as that allows for more choices.

          • Would different people be able to pick different versions of the same toy?

            • Hmmm that's a good question. I'd open that up for discussion

And it would allow somebody like Deadpool to go ahead and draft all comic book characters, while still leaving the option open to others, if they wished, to draft sidekicks from other media.

To my mind, you wouldn't even have to decide on some rigorous definition for "sidekick". If you think they are a sidekick, go ahead and draft them. If others don't agree with that designation that just means you may lose some votes. Might want to decide if we should limit it to fictional characters, though. Might be amusing to have a team with the likes of Art Garfunkel and Ed McMahon, but maybe we don't want to go there...
Man, a team with Art Garfunkel and Ed McMahon, etc. would get my vote.

Yeah, back in the Primus days. I believe it was the draft that started the trend of naming yourself "Dr. Naysay" which I did.

I'd also be down for this.

                      • Have the parameters been defined for this Sidekicks draft? Is it ALL sidekicks or only comics?

                        • If it makes a difference, I'll probably skip it if it is only comics. I'll still vote, though.
