The point of this Forum Section

Some members are a little iffy on what should go in the Games & Humor forum section so.

Trivial games like "the person above you game" should be placed in this forum.

Humor of all kinds also belongs here, like the "Superman has a problem with kinky sex" thread.

What does not belong here would be things like video games, board games. Or humor coming directly out of comic books or discussion of books.

Boardgames and the like would go in the Action Figure and Toys section as could video games, though those could also be posted in the General Forum Section.

also any posts in this Forum Section do not count towards your post count.

Hope that helps!

From the brillant brain child of Mister Ed, our next draft will be "Cast a DC Character's Solo Movie or TV Show."

    Here are the rules.

    1. We will be drafting for actors, directors and story arcs. Here are the requirments, you must draft as least one of the following:
    • A Protagonist
    • An Antagonist
    • A love interest
    • A supporting character or side kick,
    • A director
    • A story arc

The supporting character may either support the hero, the love interest or the villain.

    2. The actors and directors must be alive and you must draft the actor's current age. Therefore, you cannot draft Lynda Carter when she was 20.

    3. There will be Six Rounds of drafting in a snaking format.

    4. You can only draft within the main protagonist's family/world. So, you can't team up Green Lantern with Flash, but you can team up Guy Gardner with John Stewart or Captain Marvel with Mary Marvel. However, you cannot use the multiverse to mix and match characters from different earths.

    5. You do not have to draft super heroes, so you can draft characters from Vertigo. As long as it's under the parent company, DC Comics.

    6. When it is your turn to pick, you will have 1 hour to make your selection or you will forefit your turn. So, I highly recommend you PM me you selections before it's your turn.

    7. We'll conduct two rounds of drafting a day.

    8. Drafting will commence between the hours of 9:30am and 5:30pm PST, between Monday and Friday.

    9. Once the drafting rounds are completed, I will open up the rosters to the lightning round, where you can drop or add as many positions on your roster.
    * Additionally, AS AN OPTION, you will be able to add 2 more characters to your roster and they can be villains, love interests, support characters, etc. So you if were planning on doing Batman's Hush, feel free to mix in a couple more villains. I'll let the voters decide if the additional two spots helps or hurts your team.

    10. DEPENDANT on the amount of participants, will determine the competition format. Meaning, if we have 8 or 16 participants we can go directly to a bracket style competition. However, and other amount of participants, we'll have a Round 1 Battle Royale to bracket determine seeding.

    11. There must be a minium of 8 participants before we can begin this draft.

    12. If you are interested in participating, please post as much in this thread.

    13. And as always, have fun.

    EDIT:

    Additional Rules:

    14. Once an actor has been drafted, you cannot draft the same actor.

    15. You can draft the same character, but not the same story arc. So for for example, you can draft Batman, but if some else drafts Batman R.I.P. or Hush, you cannot draft those story arcs.

    16. You cannot draft your story arc until the 4th Round.

    17. I'll allow the character the actor is drafted to play a secret until the story arc is reveal. So, for example, if you draft Ryan Reynolds to play Hal Jordon, you can draft the Ryan Reynolds and keep it a secret as to the character he was drafted to play. That is your option. The guessing game as to a theme of a draft has always been part of the process.

Starting when, or will that be decided when you see the response?

What if it's creator-owned, or if DC has lost the rights to a certain character or story since they published it? How about Wildstorm characters? Or Wildstorm characters from before DC purchased the imprint?

I just came up with about the stupidest idea for a superhero TV show ever (even though it's based on some comics I enjoyed). Hmmm...

Yes, it will depend on the response of people. Sometimes, it's difficult to get the minium of 8 participants. Plus, I like to allow a few days before a draft to begin to give folks a opportunity to discover this thread and ponder to sign up the draft.

If the comic was once published or owned by DC and is now creator-owned, I will allow the drafting of that character/title. Yes, even though Wildstorm was once independent from DC, the characters are now owned by DC so, I'll allow that as well. So feel free to draft character from Wildstorm before DC purchased the imprint.

When you come to a decision, please make it official by posting "I'm in" or something clear to that effect. In the last draft, Tazzmission posted a bunch of actors but never really said he was participating.

I have two ideas for shows, one that I'd actually love to see, and one that is almost unbelievably stupid--and I'd love to see at least one episode of.

Can there be any overlap between people's teams, in terms of characters and/or actors? If not, I better come up with more than one idea in case somebody grabs a character I need.

EDIT: Nevermind, my question was answered.

Well I guess I SHOULD participate, since it was my idea.

                        I'm in.

I made an additional rule, that you cannot draft your story arc until the 4th round, to allow the mystery of the theme of your of team to remain a mystery. Typically, after the third pick, people get a good sense of your team's theme.

                            Excellent!

We need a minium of four more people.
