Machine Wars Bracket 2: Hot Rod Vs. Kup (V)

Hot Rod lives up to his name, a headstrong, confident and somewhat wreckless "young" Transformer. He's got the skills and the talent, but does he have the knowledge to use them?

Conversely, Kup is a battled hardened veteran, who's seen and done it all, and doesn't mind telling you. He's also one of the few Autobots to directly challenge Optimus Primes' motives and decisions, often berating his Leader when he thinks he is being soft.

I choose Hot Rod over Rodimus since most people don't like Rodimus to begin with, but generally seem o.k. with Hot Rod. Plus it makes the battle more fun. Kup was a mentor of sorts to Hot Rod, so this gives us a good "Master Vs. Student" battle.

Setting: Cybertron

Stipulations: K.O.

Some third party customizers made a custom Kup head with a cigar in his teeth as a replacement for one of his newer toys.
It's pretty rad.

I know this is supposed to be about the characters battling, but in any matchup where I own one of the toys and not the other, I'm very likely to vote for the one I own. Does that make me a bad person?

I still liked it though. Especially the fact that it didn't suffer from "Tiny Head Syndrome" like so many of the other Transformer toys.

I am. There are still many that I'm reluctant to hand over because I feel, even at age 11, that he might still break them when trying to transform them, due to the fussiness of some of the transformations. I'm probably being paranoid, but hey, it's not like he's being deprived or anything.
